In our 2010 program we can offer you our new DeLuxe Wildlife Tour. During this 11-day tour you will be driven round the South Island and visit a number of locations where you will indulge in wildlife spotting, watching and/or other activities. Among them are world famous venues such as the Kaikoura Whale Watch, the Akaroa Harbour Dolphin Cruises, the White Heron Nesting Colony of Whataroa and the Blue Penguin Colony of Oamaru. For more details on the tour program, click here to take a look at our willdlife tour program. Accommodation including breakfast is included, as are all entrance and participation fees. Our trips start and finish at Christchurch International Airport, but of course you are free to incorporate our golf tour in a longer holiday stay in New Zealand. We will pick you up from the airport or any place of accommodation in Christchurch.

About Us

Totara Tours is a young enterprise based in Oamaru, North Otago, NZ. Our aim is to distinguish ourselves from other tour operators in that we do not deal in mass tourism or restrict our tours to the standard sights and locations. Our staff are all New Zealand residents, and many of them speak German, Dutch and French. We travel in small groups and attempt to tailor the tours to your needs and wishes.

is this only for experienced wildlife watchers?

No, certainly not. This is not a safari or a survival trip, but an active sightseeing tour. Some excursions require a little physical exercise, like some walking or (if you so desire) swimming, but basically our tour is suitable for all ages and most levels of fitness. We take the trip at a leisurely pace, and there is plenty of room for relaxation. Just make sure you’ve got a sturdy pair of walking shoes, your camera and binoculars.

If you can get together a group yourself, great! We’ll be even more able to cater to your needs. If not, just book individually. Then all you do is book your flight to Christchurch and let us take care of the rest.
